Camp Information

General Information
Finlandia Lions Sports Camps provide both recreational and social opportunities in a safe environment. Our goal is for you to leave camp not only as a better athlete, but to also have a great experience, make new friends and learn what it’s like to be a college athlete. Our Camper Assistants - CA’s are live in staff members, available 24 hours a day. CA’s and camp staff will provide constant supervision and guidance to your campers while they are away from home.

A completed and signed health assessment/code of conduct agreement form and concussion awareness acknowledgement form are required to be on file before participation in any camp.

If a resident must leave the University for any reason during the camp, they must provide written permission from a parent/guardian PRIOR to the beginning of camp and must notify a camp staff member before leaving.  The permission slip must include participant name, date, reason for absence, length and be signed by parent/guardian.

Parents/guardians and friends are welcome to attend the final day of camp.

Accommodations
Live in participants stay in the residence hall on Finlandia’s campus,  adjacent  to the Paavo Nurmi Gymnasium on Finlandia’s main campus, and 5 blocks from McAfee Field, where the camps are held. Participants living in the residence hall will room with other participants of their own age group (two to three occupants per room).  Roommate requests must be made by both participants.

Rooms in the residence hall are furnished with two or three single beds, dressers and desks. There  is a bathroom with shower that connects to another room. The residence hall has lounges, cable TV, ping pong and pool table.

Participants will be issued a room key upon check in. Only CA’s will have a building key. Since we use the same rooms for all of our camps our doors are immediately re-keyed if a key is not turned in. You will be billed $125 for a lost key.

Laundry
Laundry services are available. Students must bring their own laundry supplies. Participants will be supervised by CA.

Meals
The Food Service Department serves three meals per day in the Finlandia Hall Café. In addition to entrées we offer a full soup, salad and deli bar during lunch and dinner service. We offer a wide variety of meal choices, trying to keep up with the latest trends in culinary delights, while keeping the all-time favorites in our menu cycle Patrons with food allergies are advised to contact the Director of Food Service upon entering the Finlandia Hall Cafe.
